HOW TO PLAY

Omaha Hi/Lo is similar to the regular game of Omaha but the pot is split between a high hand, which is the same as in ordinary Omaha and a low hand, which is based on five cards which start at eight or below.

There are three types of Omaha Hi/Lo, Limit, No Limit and Pot Limit.

Limit is where there is a specified betting limit in each game and on each round of betting.

No Limit is where a player can bet all of his chips at any time.

Pot Limit is where a player can bet what is in the pot.

The players to the left of the Dealer begin the game by posting the compulsory Blind bets.

The player on the dealers left posts a Small Blind and the player to their left posts the Big Blind.

Four pocket cards are dealt to each player which only they can see.

During the first round, the player to the Big Blinds left can either Call, Raise or Fold.

During the first round of betting players are not allowed to Check as the Blinds are bets.

In the second round, three community cards are dealt.  This is known as the Flop.  All players remaining at this stage may then Check, Raise or Fold.

In the third round a fourth community card is dealt which is called the Turn card.  This is followed by a further round of betting by the remaining players.

In the fourth round a fifth and final community card called the River card is dealt.

The final round of betting then takes place and the remaining players use two of their pocket cards along with three of their community cards to create the best five card hand possible.  Players then compare hands to determine the winner this is known as the Showdown and the winner takes the pot!

If two or more players have the same winning hand then the pot is split equally between them.
